City of Anaheim Honors Carl's Jr. Founder, Carl N. Karcher, on His 90th Birthday With Star on 'Anaheim / O.C. Walk of Stars'

CARPINTERIA, Calif., Jan. 16, 2007 -- CKE Restaurants, Inc. (NYSE: CKR) announced that the City of Anaheim, California honored Carl's Jr. founder, Carl N. Karcher, today with a star on its newly conceived Anaheim / O.C. Walk of Stars. The unveiling ceremony took place in front of Disneyland, with Mr. Karcher, Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle and CKE Restaurants, Inc. president and CEO Andrew F. Puzder in attendance. Anaheim / O.C. Walk of Stars president Bob Alexander emceed.

Karcher is the second Anaheim dignitary to receive recognition from the City; the late media mogul and Disneyland founder Walt Disney was honored with the first in November 2006. The Anaheim / O.C. Walk of Stars is meant to honor visionary leaders, entertainers and entrepreneurs who have made a positive impact in Anaheim and throughout Orange County. Recipients of stars will include celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs, pioneers and humanitarians.
"It is only fitting that Carl Karcher receive a star because of his impact on the City of Anaheim and his entrepreneurial legacy," said Mayor Curt Pringle. "Anaheim is based on the same principles Carl and Margaret Karcher embraced, and our community has flourished because of contributors like them."
The Karchers' star is located in the Anaheim Resort District near Walt Disney's star on Harbor Boulevard.
